Profhilo Treatments in London

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment made from one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in aesthetic medicine. Hyaluronic acid is a molecule your skin produces naturally to hold moisture, but levels decline with age, which is one of the reasons skin becomes drier, thinner and less firm over time.

Unlike dermal filler, Profhilo is not designed to add volume or create contour. Instead, it spreads evenly beneath the skin and stimulates your own production of collagen and elastin. The result is skin that looks and feels more hydrated, firmer and healthier, with a natural glow rather than a changed appearance. Nobody will know you have had anything done. They will simply notice your skin looks well.

What can Profhilo treat?

Profhilo is most commonly used to improve skin quality on the face, but it is equally effective on areas that often give away age first. At our Mayfair clinic, Dr Karwal regularly treats the face, neck, décolletage and hands, as well as the arms, knees and abdomen using Profhilo Body, a version specifically formulated for larger areas.

It is particularly well suited to concerns such as dull or dehydrated skin, fine lines, crepey texture, early skin laxity and loss of firmness. It is important to understand that Profhilo tightens and improves skin quality, but it does not lift the face or restore lost volume. If sagging or volume loss is your main concern, Dr Karwal may recommend a different treatment or a combination approach, which he will discuss openly with you at your consultation.

Profhilo for the neck & body

The neck is one of the most requested areas for Profhilo, and for good reason. The skin here is thinner than on the face, shows lines and crepiness early, and responds poorly to creams. Profhilo can noticeably improve hydration, texture and firmness across the neck and décolletage, making it a popular choice for patients who feel their neck ages them more than their face.

For the hands, arms, knees and abdomen, Profhilo Body offers the same bio-remodelling benefits adapted for larger surface areas, improving skin laxity and texture where it is most visible.

What happens during treatment?

Profhilo is delivered as a course of two sessions, spaced four weeks apart. Each appointment takes around 30 minutes, and the injections themselves take only a few minutes.

Dr Karwal uses the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, injecting small amounts of Profhilo into five precise points on each side of the face. These points are specifically chosen to allow the product to spread evenly while avoiding major vessels and nerves, keeping treatment safe, quick and comfortable. Most patients describe the sensation as a brief sting, and no anaesthetic is usually needed.

There is minimal downtime. You may notice small raised bumps at the injection points, which typically settle within a few hours, along with possible mild redness, tenderness or bruising. Most patients return to work or their normal day immediately.
